The Byre

2 guests – 1 bedroom – 1 bed – 1 bathroom

The Byre is 6 miles from Glencoe, nestled above picturesque Loch Leven, with stunning 360-degree mountain views. A 10-minute walk from friendly Kinlochleven, this charming and special place to stay was originally where the local estate deer stalker kept his horse. This recently refurbished and extended cottage combines tradition with modern luxury, total peace with local amenities. A perfect romantic, luxury retreat for two, and a cosy, comfortable base for outdoor sports and sightseeing.

The space
The decor is light and bright and the views surrounding the cottage are beautiful. Wild deer can sometimes be seen grazing on the hillside and in the pasture at the front, especially during winter when they come down the mountain to sleep.

The cottage contains one spacious bedroom, with a king size bed, and incredible views to enjoy with your cuppa in the morning. The stylish, modern bathroom has a large walk-in shower, and the kitchen is well laid-out and equipped. There is efficient gas central heating and a combination boiler that provides instant hot water.

Additional Information
We have only relatively recently bought The Byre, but it has been a very popular holiday let for 6 years, during which time it had 100% 5* reviews. I am working with the lovely previous owners to maintain the high standard they set as hosts.

Please note, although the cottage itself is fine for babies sharing your room (you’ll need to bring a travel cot), they should be supervised at all times in the unenclosed garden. Similarly, dogs can easily roam beyond the garden, and there are deer in the area.

Please get in touch if you can’t see the exact dates you wish to book, we may be able to help.

Although there is a local bus service running between Kinlochleven and Fort William, you’ll really need a car to tour the area properly, although you can get essentials down in the village, 10 mins walk away. There is parking beside The Byre for one car. The track is gravelled and well drained, accessible to all domestic vehicles.

Additional rules
A fifth person can be accommodated by arrangement on a good quality single bed, with a supplement of £20 pppn.

You are welcome to bring your dog for an extra £30 per stay.

Please note, although the house itself is fine for babies (you’ll need to bring a travel cot) and children, they should be supervised at all times in the unenclosed garden. Similarly, dogs can easily roam beyond the garden, and there are deer in the area.

Kinlochleven, Lochaber
The Byre is located in the heart of the spectacular beauty of the Scottish Highlands, close to Glencoe, 21 miles from Fort William, and an hour from Oban. The small, friendly village of Kinlochleven is 1 mile away and from there you can join the West Highland Way going in two directions. The village has a good range of amenities, including 2 pubs, a Co-op, Post Office, and Ice Factor, with Europe’s largest ice climbing wall, regular climbing wall, excellent cafe and grill. Near to Ice Factor is Scotland’s only Via Ferrata, a unique and exciting activity that runs beside the third biggest waterfall in Scotland, The Grey Mare’s Tail. From the village, there is a lovely walk to visit this waterfall.

This beautiful cottage situated in Glen Coe was the ideal spot for our mini break away.
A wonderful location with everything we needed. Our dogs enjoyed it as well. A great host that made our stay effortless! Clean, inviting and best off all within an hour of our stay we spotted our first red deer right outside our front door! Amazing! Thank you so much Anna.”
